I prefer handcrafted jewellery, rather than items mass produced by a machine. That way you can guarantee no-one else will have the same piece as you, and you’ll sound ultra cutting edge when people ask where you buy your jewellery.
Lunarrastar is a small jewellery company who have a studio space in Edinburgh, and sell their products online. They use natural gemstones, Swarovski crystals and vintage pendants to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings. They have great attention to detail and, even better, their jewellery doesn’t cost the earth!
Being a vintage fan, I think this Blue Victorian style Cameo necklace is one of my favourites. The blue colour is spot on and contrasts well with the white, and the Swarovski crystals and silver heart charm add detail and make it look even more unique. It’s available in three different lengths for the perfect fit, and costs just £15.99.
It’s available only on Lunarrastar’s website, and whilst you’re there have a look at their other lovely items.

You’re never too old for Disney, and now ASOS have launched a great line of jewellery to prove it! Disney Couture is a range of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings inspired by Disney characters and themes, exclusively for big kids.
The high end products are a firm celebrity favourite, being sported by Lindsay Lohan, Kate Bosworth and Nicole Richie, as well as being featured in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
My favourite is this cute Magic Castle Necklace. This is the very embodiment of all things Disney without being too cheesy or having Mickey Mouse draped round your neck (although the infamous ears are available as Swarovski necklace pendant if you fancy it!).
At 27 inches, this is a fairly long necklace, so wear it with a plain top to make the colours stand out. It’s 14 Ct gold plated and costs £40, so definitely a grown up piece of jewellery worth taking care of!
The whole range is available from ASOS now.

Topshop has a great new range of necklaces, covering all of the key trends from bows to tribal to bright colours. Whatever you like wearing round your neck, I can guarantee there’ll be a necklace for you.
Being a fan of horses, I think this Winged Horse Necklace is my favourite. On a simple chain, the small silver horse charm is set off by the diamante detailing on the wings, and it has an antique, vintage feel about it. On a 15″ chain it’s long enough not to get tangled up in collars and necklines, is adjustable by 3″ and will slip on over the head, so no messing about with fiddly clasps. It’s also available with a gold horse charm which makes the silver wings stand out even more. It also faces the opposite way, so you can choose which way you want the horse to gallop.
Get them at Topshop online now or in store.

Charms have been a key trend for a while now, particularly on bracelets. Chanel’s recent Fashion Week Show saw the runway transformed into a carousel with giant Chanel accessory charms such as the infamous 2.55 bag, a bow and a two tone ballet pump.
This Philip Crangi Mixed Charm necklace combines a horseshoe, padlock and an anchor from this summers nautical trend to give a twist on an old favourite.
The charms are in classic gold and black, and the necklace has a gold chain. It would would pair up with a smart office outfit, an evening dress, or add detail to a simple jeans and top combo. It would also make a great gift for almost anyone as it’s classy and cute at the same time.
It costs £950 at is available at Kabiri.

Sphere shapes are hot at Accessorize at the moment, I have found a whole range of jewellery items in this style that are sure to be hot this summer. First up (left) is a Filigree Ball 925 Silver Necklace (£16), it would really jazz up a simple outfit and would look great on the beach with a bikini! Then we have a Giant Pave Ball Ring (£10), a stunning ring that will get you noticed.

The we have a Filigree Ball Earrings (£8) that are just big enough to add some sparkle but not too overpowering. Lastly we have a Pearl 925 Silver Pendant (£8), simple but stunning.

This gorgeous head turner of a choker by Roberto Cavalli is just what a summery outfit needs. I can picture this with a nice white dress, gladiator sandals and an oversized handbag. With the rounded bottom boasting the chunky gold decoration, you will find it hard not to want to wear it more often than not!
At £370 it isn’t the cheapest summer accessory you could buy but if you find it too hard to resist then you can buy the Roberto Cavalli Stamped metal choker online at Net-a-porter.

If you walk around any shopping centre you will see floral designs plastered all over the manikins and dressing room hangers. I can’t quite believe it but is seems flower power has returned. It doesn’t stop at clothing either, many stores have stocked up on flower inspired jewellery too. These three pieces from Topshop will give you a good idea what to expect when you next venture out on a shopping trip.

The first (left) is a Vintage Look Flower Necklace costing £10, superb to accompany a plain black dress or simple outfit. The second is an Embossed Flower Bangle (£8), beautifully designed and perfect to wear as a single piece to show off the unique detail.
Last but not least and my personal favourite is a Stone Set Flower Ring (also £8), perfect to add a bit of bling to your finger! Get into your floral prints this spring, they’re going to be huge.

This stunning Vivienne Westwood Red Label Heart pendant necklace would make the perfect luxurious gift to receive this Valentines Day.
There’s no better way to wear a hint of Westwood and definitely no better day than Valentines with the heart theme filling the air with romance wherever you look!!
This is a silver circle link necklace with a beautiful embossed heart shaped pendant. It also features a very glitzy Swarovski crystal embellished clover at top of pendant – how very bling!! I would get dropping those hints if I were you girls to be in with a chance of receiving such a gift. It’s not cheap at £90. Take a closer look yourself at www.net-a-porter.com

Is it just me or did anyone else not know the Jade Jagger was into jewellery design? Apparently the kiss is her trademark logo hence this necklace I guess.
It is a gold plated silver necklace with diamanté decorated kiss. It also features a JJ logo charm near the fastening t-bar. Even though I wasn’t aware this jewellery brand existed, I’m actually quite glad I have found it. I’m not sure why, but I really like this necklace. It’s different and a real statement piece.
It’s certainly not cheap though at a jaw dropping £300.00 – I don’t think I like it that much!!! If you can actually afford such delights or if like me you just like to a bit of window shopping then you can purchase the Jade Jagger Kiss necklace at Net-a-porter.

Well with winter well and truly here, wrapping up in as many layers as possible to lounge around in is a must!!
For neck warmth I would normally recommend a traditional scarf, however it appears that clever little fashion designers, Cardigan have come up with the idea of woolen jewellery to help create the desired warm feeling.
This Flower Burst necklace is one of a few jewellery creations by Cardigan. I’ve never seen anything like it, but I have to admit they work well. The simple black and white colour theme of this necklace would mean you could pretty much pair it with any outfit and it’s really pretty in a girly kind of way.
It’s quite pricey for what it is and is retailing at £35.00 but I guess your paying for the name and original design. You can find this necklace as well as a variety of winter warming pieces at www.cardigan.ltd.uk.
