Junk Jewel – Definitely Not Rubbish!

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Junk JewelsJunk Jewels is another great small jewellery company that trades online and from Portabello Market in London. Their website is super easy to navigate and has a lovely layout. You can see all their designs in nice big pictures on one page – no need to click to zoom! They’re also fairly inexpensive, ranging from £6 to £12, and postage is free for all UK orders!

The are lots of lovely charms to choose from, from hearts to birds to horses, but my favourite has to be the Embellished Teapot Charm on a gold chain. The splash of colour on it looks great and gives it an antique, vintage feel, and I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone else with necklace like this! It comes on a short chain for £8, or a long chain for £10.

Head over to Junk Jewels to have a look!

Philip Crangi Charm necklaceCharms have been a key trend for a while now, particularly on bracelets. Chanel’s recent Fashion Week Show saw the runway transformed into a carousel with giant Chanel accessory charms such as the infamous 2.55 bag, a bow and a two tone ballet pump.

This Philip Crangi Mixed Charm necklace combines a horseshoe, padlock and an anchor from this summers nautical trend to give a twist on an old favourite.

The charms are in classic gold and black, and the necklace has a gold chain. It would would pair up with a smart office outfit, an evening dress, or add detail to a simple jeans and top combo. It would also make a great gift for almost anyone as it’s classy and cute at the same time.

It costs £950 at is available at Kabiri.

Halloween Charm

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

il_430xn12108600.jpgI wish I’d discovered this jewellery before Halloween but better late than never! The freakish pieces are one off designs made by very talent jewellery designers. I think the Frankenstein’s Bride pendant is fab! I love the colour and the cute little spider hanging on for dear life.

Its a well made and hard wearing piece that will last you for many Halloweens to come. Personally I’d wear it everyday.

The compact mirror is equally unique. Its made from an original painting by the designer and it comes in a hand stitched pouch. You can find out more and buy the item here or visit the hompage to see more devilishly hot items.

The Hummingbird Has Landed

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Alex Monroe’s Hummingbird NecklaceI’ve always been more of a fan of silver than gold – in fact my whole jewellery collection consists of silver, so I wanted to try and find a piece of gold jewellery that would add the wow factor to any outfit.

When I saw a picture of Mischa Barton modelling this elegant gold hummingbird necklace, I knew this would make a great start to my much needed gold collection. It s 22 carat gold plated and features in Alex Monroe’s Sunblossom collection that can be seen at Accessories Online.

The hummingbird is in fact handcrafted, measures 1.5 cm long and comes on a fine gold chain with a lobster clasp. It’s a bit pricey at £81.95 so might be worth waiting and adding to the Christmas list – it will definitely be featuring at the top of mine!!!

LoveLinksI am actually in love with Lovelinks! Lovelinks is a new jewellery range that everyone is going crazy for and I can see why; it’s gorgeous!

I’ve always loved charm bracelets as they give you the opportunity to design your own piece of jewellery making it more personal and unique. If you too have a passion for jewellery and are fed up of seeing the same bracelet on hundreds of other girls then this new jewellery range is perfect for you, all you have to do is buy a bracelet or a necklace to start adding your own links to! You have the choice of a leather or solid silver strap and prices start from £9.95; bargain!

I must warn you that there are sooo many links to choose from so if looking to purchase your own lovelinks make sure you have plenty of time! All of the links are handmade in Denmark and they are all sterling silver. However some are decorated with 14ct gold and others are covered in beautiful coloured glass. The best news of all is that they are really reasonable; links range from £5 to £52.50 so there is something for everyone. I personally am spoilt for choice!
