Purple Frenzy

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

purplebracelet.jpgWith purple being the new black this season, we can’t ignore the fact that purple jewellery is a must. Make sure though that if you take the purple jewellery option that you don’t end up wearing all different shades as you may end up looking a bit on the hippy side.

I would suggest that if you were to choose a piece such as this purple early bracelet by French Connection, that you team with maybe a black outfit and fellow purple accessories such as a nice clutch. This glamorous bracelet is elasticated so suitable for shapes and sizes and is just £15.00 and can be bought in store or on-line at

Kenneth Jay Lane Leopard Print BangleWhile we’re on the subject of jewellery focused around big cats as per my previous article, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to tell you all about my latest find – a leopard print bangle by Kenneth Jay Lane.

I admit its not going to suit everyone’s tastes, but for those of you out there that like the animal touch, it could be just the piece you’ve been waiting for.

Its basically a beige and yellow enamel bracelet cuff that features a stunning leopard design. The extra detail you will find on the bracelet is 18k gold plated and the hinge of the bracelet is magnetic so should be easy to get on and off!

So go on, show everyone your wild side and log on to and part with £45 for this gorgeous piece.

Lulu Guiness Lip & Lipstick

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Lulu Guiness BraceletIt would appear that hip designer Lulu Guiness has taken up a new interest in make-up for the lips if their latest jewellery pieces are anything to go by!!

Lulu Guiness NecklaceThe bracelet was the first piece of the collection that I came across and I remember thinking how wacky and bold it was, and then when I found out that there was a necklace and earrings to match I was bowled over by the site of all that red lippy!!

They’re not particularly cheap items and I personally would not ever wear all 3 pieces together for fear of a public showdown, however one item alone could be quite striking.

Lulu Guiness EarringsThe earrings are small and studded and will cost £35. The chain is around 16″ in length and features both a lip and lipstick pendant. You will also find these signatory symbols on the bracelet, however the lipstick is used as the T bar clasp which is a great effect. Both the necklace and bracelet cost £75 and would make a great pressie for any lipstick lover so log on to HQ Hair and take a look for yourself.

Pink Pearls!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

73_1.jpgI was watching a fantastic period drama over the weekend and the leading lady was wearing the most amazing pink pearl necklace. Ever since seeing it, I have been consumed by the task of finding myself some pink pearls. They are so romantic and you just don’t see them around often!

I have to have a necklace and a bracelet and some drop earing’s right now! I’ve discovered some really pretty pieces on Aye These earrings are just perfect and are only £14.99! I also love the matching bracelet. If pink is not your color, these fresh water pearls are available in a wide range of colours so you will find something to match any outfit!

YSL Logo Charm Bracelet

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

YSL Charm BraceletThis designer gold logo charm bracelet by YSL is certainly a golden treasure not to be missed out on. Charm bracelets always grab my attention as I love the personal touch that they create and boy did this one get me excited!!

You will find a unique YSL logo that sits within a square and a heart shaped charm positioned directly next to it. Both charms are on a twisted circle chain link that is fastened with a bar that threads through one of the circles.

Its quite unusual to find a charm bracelet with just the two charms, but the design of this bracelet is to create a statement and with the size of each charm, any more would be too much! For me this look is great, quite a simple piece but it will never go unnoticed.

Its unlikely that these will be hanging around for long, and what is available will be snapped up with a drop of a hat so if you love this as much as me then drop everything and get clicking at where you will pay a modest £95.

Polkadot Jewellery

Monday, October 29th, 2007

1950’s Christion Dior necklaceIn my opinion is by far the best virtual boutique for vintage, retro and contemporary costume jewellery. You can find everything from one off pieces including necklaces and bangles to a huge selection of accessories including jewellery rolls and umbrellas!!

Polkadot provides jewellery and accessories from the up and coming trends and follows them up to fit in today’s fashion. They have a truly unique collection that combines both old and new to create exceptional quality and taste to suit all.

You can be sure to find jewellery ranges from either unique designers who use vintage materials in their items or jewellery from more popular designers such as Dior and Chanel. The best thing about this site is that they are continually changing and adding new collections each month so there’s always something new to check out!

For me its the huge range of worldwide known designer jewellery that grabs my attention. For example this month an original 1950’s Christion Dior necklace could be all yours. This is where you find true vintage at its best. It has a designer price tag at £290, but the originality and look that it will create is pretty much priceless.

Black and Green Dotted cuffIf you’re not into the well known designer brands or like me have a smaller budget then you will not feel left out. This month has seen the launch of the Tie Cuffs. This Black and Green Dotted cuff is a funky new creation by Tamsin Howells. Its made from an actual vintage tie and then laminated to create the cuff look. It will look fab with this seasons colours and has a much more reasonable price tag of £30.

Precious and Pink

Heart PendantIt is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I have noticed lots of designers and celebs involved in campaigns for the charity. I think you would all agree that its a fab idea to use their popularity for an excellent cause in helping to raise money.

We have previously posted an article on Lola Rose’s Open Heart Pendant, however I wanted to offer the chance for the newest items of the ‘pink’ collection to be seen. Jewellery designer Lola Rose has vowed that 20% of sales will be donated to the Breast Cancer Campaign when bought online.

I think its a really lovely and generous idea and the newest products on offer are definitely worth a look. For me my favourite item was this Small Faceted Heart Necklace which is a simple heart on a strand of beads. Its just so cute and girly. It will cost you £65 mind you, but with 20% being donated there’s no need for a guilt trip when splashing out.

Tumble BraceletIf you were looking for a cheaper purchase but still wanted that feel-good purchase factor then the Small Faceted Tumble Bracelet is the item for you. Its just £25 and is made up of beads on a natural cord that is fully adjustable and again is the ultimate girly pink buy.

To find out how you can help fund such a great cause visit to see the whole Breast Cancer Campaign collection.

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Erikson Beamon Patent CuffTalking of chunky cuffs, I have just come across this gorgeous embellished cuff from Erikson Beamon! This cuff is absolutely fab, it is made from patent leather so if you’re into the patent trend and have already bought yourself some patent platforms, why not get a cuff to match!

Perfect for an evening, this cuff will really set your outfit alight! The beautiful crystal embellishment in a floral design oozes elegance and glamour! I can just see it with a simple black dress and those patent platforms; perfect!

To get your very own Erikson Beamon cuff, I’m afraid you’re going to have to splash out a bit as it doesn’t come cheap! The cuff is priced at £400 and can be purchased from net a porter! Did I mention the cuff also has a suede lining, very luxurious!

Chunky Cuffs

Multi Stone WristwearWhen I say chunky cuffs I’m not talking about shirt cuffs, I’m talking about about great fashion statements in the form of a bracelet. They seem to be the must have item out there in celebville with a great metallic cuff seen on Sienna Miller, a punky studded look for Hilary Duff and a more ornate delight spotted on Fergie.

Where can you get your hands on these great accessories I hear you cry, and the answer quite simply is on the high street!!

Amulet Cuff BraceletTo name but a few, one of my favourite high street bargains is this Multi Stone Wristwear from Topshop’s freedom collection. Its big, bold and vibrant and costs just £6. Also from the Freedom collection check out this Amulet Cuff Bracelet for the punky vibe at just £10. Topshop have really embraced the chunky cuff this season so check out the whole collection either on line or in store.

Textured Flower CuffIf you’re more in to ornate jewellery then this Textured Flower Cuff will be perfect with stamped metal flowers and glass stones. Its just £10 and again can be found on line or in store at Accessorize.
