Karen Millen Signature Chain Bracelet

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

iconAs I was browsing the House of Fraiser jewellery section in search of a birthday gift I came across this Signature Chain Bracelet. It’s a little more than I was looking to spend and have found something else now but I simply had to show it off. It has been created by top designer Karen Millen and is available on the website for £50.

Its quite a chunky design so not suitable to wear with an elegant evening dress. It would however definitely jazz up a simple outfit and is probably best to wear as a single piece rather than going over the top; layering up your arm with silver!

The bracelet is made from costume silver and has a logo carabiner clasp for fastening, beautiful!

Junk Jewels

lovebracelet.JPGThere’s is nothing trashy about this up and coming jewellery brand I can tell you, so don’t be fooled by the name. They may be cheap and cheerful but they have some fab jewellery pieces available that will jazz up any outfit.

While we are all feeling loved up with Valentines Day looming, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show you all this lovely little bracelet. It has the cutest rose and love charm that feature on a skinny gold plated chain. Depending on your wrist size you can order a wider fitting if needs be. The best though is definitely the price. It’s just £6 - bargain! In fact all items on offer are around this price.

So if you are feeling in the mood to do some serious bargain shopping then make www.junkjewels.co.uk your first stop.

Malaya Jewellery

where-art-thou1.jpgMalaya is a fab site to get your hands on vintage style jewellery. They have the most amazing selection of one off pieces that will attract all the right attention including gorgeous lockets and classic time pieces.

Be warned once an item is sold there are no other pieces the same, although you can contact the site owner to request similar creations. It is a bit of a tease as you can see each piece but most are already sold, so get viewing before all pieces are gone!!

One piece that remains that I have my eye on is this gorgeous Where art thou bracelet. It’s a true vintage charm bracelet and is being sold for just £30. Unfortunately the site doesn’t really give you any details about each piece, just the name and price so it could be quite risky spending a lot as you don’t really know what quality you are buying. It appears that the site owner is quite contactable so I guess if you do have any queries you could just ask before you buy.

Tribal Trend Grows Bigger

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

beadeddropearrings.jpgIt wasn’t long ago that I was writing about how tribal jewellery looked to big this season, well it seems to of taken of a treat and I have some more pieces to share!!

Check out my tribal pointers first though before taking the plunge in buying your first piece. For starters if you want to look ultra authentic then go for brassy gold’s and tarnished silver. If it’s more of a craving for bright colours you are after then stick to beaded finishes. We all want something that looks original so keep your eye out for chic handmade pieces from market stalls - especially when you are on holiday.

magnetic-bracelet.jpgSome may want to go for the whole tribal look, so try out tribal make up too with bronzed skin, strong eyebrows and orange lips to create the perfect tribal trend.

Dorothy Perkins have some great tribal accessories at the mo including theses beaded drop hoop earrings for that colour injection you might be craving. They are just £8.00 and can be bought on line or in store. ASOS also have some great beauties like this multi row magnetic bracelet for just £16.00 - so do tribal on the cheap.

Erickson Beamon @ Debenhams

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

ebrosecuff.jpgThe flamboyant duo have once again come together to create yet another fab collection of handcrafted jewellery for popular department store Debenhams.

This new range of glitzy dress up decorations will re-create the feeling you once had when you were younger and rummaged through your mums jewellery box to find a shiny piece and having that overwhelming feeling that you have in fact struck gold!!

EB - as the range is known is a designer diffusion line that has recently hit the stores. The stand out costume jewellery will glam up any rock t-shirt or will add the finishing touch to your favourite party frock. Each piece has the added bonus of looking like it has come straight from a couture cabinet at Tiffany but without the hefty price tag.

The collection is so vast it’s hard to choose my favourite pieces, but I think for me this silver coloured diamante rose cuff wins hands down. This piece is the ultimate accessory needed to draw attention to yourself. It’s £65.00 but once on it literally looks a million dollars!!

This is gorgeous designer jewellery that deserves to be worn as though it’s a family heirloom!!

Purple Frenzy

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

purplebracelet.jpgWith purple being the new black this season, we can’t ignore the fact that purple jewellery is a must. Make sure though that if you take the purple jewellery option that you don’t end up wearing all different shades as you may end up looking a bit on the hippy side.

I would suggest that if you were to choose a piece such as this purple early bracelet by French Connection, that you team with maybe a black outfit and fellow purple accessories such as a nice clutch. This glamorous bracelet is elasticated so suitable for shapes and sizes and is just £15.00 and can be bought in store or on-line at www.fcukbuymail.com.

Kenneth Jay Lane Leopard Bangle

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Kenneth Jay Lane Leopard Print BangleWhile we’re on the subject of jewellery focused around big cats as per my previous article, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to tell you all about my latest find - a leopard print bangle by Kenneth Jay Lane.

I admit its not going to suit everyone’s tastes, but for those of you out there that like the animal touch, it could be just the piece you’ve been waiting for.

Its basically a beige and yellow enamel bracelet cuff that features a stunning leopard design. The extra detail you will find on the bracelet is 18k gold plated and the hinge of the bracelet is magnetic so should be easy to get on and off!

So go on, show everyone your wild side and log on to www.bunnyhug.co.uk and part with £45 for this gorgeous piece.

Lulu Guiness Lip & Lipstick

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Lulu Guiness BraceletIt would appear that hip designer Lulu Guiness has taken up a new interest in make-up for the lips if their latest jewellery pieces are anything to go by!!

Lulu Guiness NecklaceThe bracelet was the first piece of the collection that I came across and I remember thinking how wacky and bold it was, and then when I found out that there was a necklace and earrings to match I was bowled over by the site of all that red lippy!!

They’re not particularly cheap items and I personally would not ever wear all 3 pieces together for fear of a public showdown, however one item alone could be quite striking.

Lulu Guiness EarringsThe earrings are small and studded and will cost £35. The chain is around 16″ in length and features both a lip and lipstick pendant. You will also find these signatory symbols on the bracelet, however the lipstick is used as the T bar clasp which is a great effect. Both the necklace and bracelet cost £75 and would make a great pressie for any lipstick lover so log on to HQ Hair and take a look for yourself.

Pink Pearls!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

73_1.jpgI was watching a fantastic period drama over the weekend and the leading lady was wearing the most amazing pink pearl necklace. Ever since seeing it, I have been consumed by the task of finding myself some pink pearls. They are so romantic and you just don’t see them around often!

I have to have a necklace and a bracelet and some drop earing’s right now! I’ve discovered some really pretty pieces on Aye Do.com. These earrings are just perfect and are only £14.99! I also love the matching bracelet. If pink is not your color, these fresh water pearls are available in a wide range of colours so you will find something to match any outfit!

YSL Logo Charm Bracelet

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

YSL Charm BraceletThis designer gold logo charm bracelet by YSL is certainly a golden treasure not to be missed out on. Charm bracelets always grab my attention as I love the personal touch that they create and boy did this one get me excited!!

You will find a unique YSL logo that sits within a square and a heart shaped charm positioned directly next to it. Both charms are on a twisted circle chain link that is fastened with a bar that threads through one of the circles.

Its quite unusual to find a charm bracelet with just the two charms, but the design of this bracelet is to create a statement and with the size of each charm, any more would be too much! For me this look is great, quite a simple piece but it will never go unnoticed.

Its unlikely that these will be hanging around for long, and what is available will be snapped up with a drop of a hat so if you love this as much as me then drop everything and get clicking at www.brownsfashion.com where you will pay a modest £95.
